With over $1 Million in scholarships awarded since 1979, the EGIF Scholarship program is a visionary act of philanthropy in Chicagoland. EGIF’s pioneering investment in the education of young people has nurtured a generation of leaders whose achievements and contributions to the social good continue to change the world. This remarkable legacy provides two categories of scholarships:<br>
• The Edward G. Irvin Foundation Scholarship is given in the amount of $5,000 ($1,250 disbursed annually over 4 years) per recipient.<br>
• The Summerowner Scholarship is a one-time award given in the amount of $1,000 per recipient.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
FOR SCHOLARSHIP APPLICANTS
- Graduating high school male of African-American descent;
- Minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 (4.0 scale)
- Completion of ACT and/or SAT standard exam;
- Active participation in extracurricular activities and/or community service programs
